Local Amenities

Beare Green is not a big village, however there are some very useful local amenities. Perhaps the most popular (and useful) is the local store – Londis. The local store stocks all the basic households including milk, bread, eggs, etc. It also boasts services like ETop Up, Bill Payment, Lottery, Off License, Parking and Newsagent.

In the same complex you can find the Blue Moon Cafe, a local harware store and hairdressers. There’s a printing shop too. I’ll be attempting to find more detail so bookmark this page…

Silver Fingerprint Jewellery offer jewellery and gifts incorporating the personal fingerprint. Based in nearby Newdigate, you can contact them by visiting their website.

Other local amenities include: tuition services, second hand van sales, car repairs, motor cycle repairs and numerous home services.

Southern Railways, Holmwood Station.

Our local councilCapel Parish Council – is responsible for the maintenance of land and property, including Capel Burial Ground, Beare Green Football pitch and pavilion and children’s playgrounds in all 3 wards.

Also, there are a host of other local services available:

Little Bears is a baby and toddler group held at Beare Green Village Hall on Fridays from 10-12 (in term time only). Please come along and enjoy plenty of activities for your little one, and a chance to meet other mums. There is always a craft table, a soft area for babies, a reading area, and lots of activities and toys for toddlers. We have storytime with a drink and biscuit, and singing. Mums and Dads can have a coffee and a biscuit too!

Busy Bee Cakes is a Beare Green-based cake company supplying delicious home-made celebration cakes, big and small. We make small cakes for birthdays, anniversaries and christenings, or could make your 3-tier wedding cake. We love working with clients to get the design exactly right, and people often say our chocolate cake and luxury fruit cake are the best they’ve tasted. We also make fairy-cakes and muffins. Visit busybeecakes.co.uk to have a look at our flavours, and to see photos of cakes we’ve made.

  1. Silver fingerprint jewellery and keepsakes based in Beare Green and covering all surrounding areas including Dorking and further afield.

  2. Hi

I just wondered whether you were interested in featuring local clubs on this website. For instance Little Bears is a toddler group for pre-schoolers that runs on Fridays 10-12 in the village hall, in term time. I’m sure there are loads of other clubs that would love a mention as well.

      Hi David,

Yes, I saw that – great work ladies. Keep it up. Thanks too to the local police services.

So where do you think the funds are best served?

Just had a flyer through the front door regarding the Village Hall – saying I could fill in a questionnaire on line at http://www.bearegreen.com – so where is it?

Hi – is there a Beare Green Football team? There’s obviously the pitch opposite The Weald but I can’t see anywhere whether there’s a local team.
    Thanks

      Hi Dave,

It’s a good question but I think the answer is NO – there is no Beare Green football team. Of course there are neighbouring football clubs like Dorking and Horsham. That said Capel may have a team, but I may be wrong.

I will scout around and post a response when I can.

      Thanks for dropping by.

      Cheers,

      Rob
